Courtney Shanade Salter, born April 26, 1991 often referred to professionally as Ari Lennox, hails from Washington, D.C. and is the debut female to be signed to J. Cole's Dreamville Records label. The first single, Pho was released on the 21st of October, 2016 and was released through Dreamville Records. Her career began to grow in fame. Then, later in the season, the music was circulating throughout Dreamville. Then, in December of 2008 the news was made public that Rihanna was signed by Dreamville Records. Backseat is a track that she performed alongside Cozz for the Revenge of the Dreamers II collaborative album. The 21st of October, 2016, her EP Pho was released. Ari Lennox performed the song Change by J. Cole as well as being an opener on The 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. She was accompanied by EarthGang. She also appeared in 2018 on two tracks with her label-mates EarthGang to Nothing but the Best. Also, she appeared on Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox debuted her first single, Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on July 16, 2018, which was released on July 16th, 2018. A music video was then released in September.
